Grade 6 Program

Program Overview

The full VLN-E Grade 6 correspondence program consists of seven core subject areas - Language Arts, Social Studies, Mathematics, Sciences, Fine Arts, French and Health and Career Education. Subjects are divided into three terms with student progress reports issued at the end of each term. All VLN-E grade 6 materials support BC Ministry of Education prescribed learning outcomes.

VLN-E students studying in a home environment require supervision and support from parents and/or a home instructor. All students are assigned to a VLN-E teacher who is available to provide clarification of lessons, monitor student progress and modify assignments where needed. Teachers may be reached by phone, mail, or email and should be contacted on a regular basis to ensure student success.

The grade 6 program supports the use of computers for assignment submission, internet research and general correspondence. VLN-E students also have access to optional online study units and communications tools.
