Physical Education 11 Enriched

Prerequisite: PE 10 [referral from PE 10 teacher]
This course is a combined course with MPE – 12 ENR
 
This is an elective course that may be used as one of the courses leading towards Graduation. MPE—11 ENR can be taken in Grade 11 or 12. The course will consist of:
  1. Performance Oriented Activities – emphasis on technical aspects of sport, nutrition, fitness, and healthy living principles. - 30%
  2. Leadership and Service – 20% Leadership/Service in Intramural and/or Extra-curricular programs, or in the Community – minimum 10 hours per term
  3. Physical Fitness – 10%  Fitness Testing and Timed Runs
  4. Personal & Social Responsibility – 30% - Attendance, leadership, participation, behaviour etc.
  5. CPR certification and First Aid – 10% - St. Johns Ambulance/Vancouver Firefighters CPR level A or level C training workshops and exam, as well as sports injury taping and injury prevention lab assignments.
  6. Leisure-oriented activities include optional field trips such as indoor go-kart racing, 10 pin bowling, indoor rock climbing, ocean kayaking, ski/snowboarding, driving range, golf, etc.
