Photo: Terry's Marathon of Hope- What an amazing journey. Thank you to all the staff, students and families who were able to join us for our annual run on Friday. This is such a great cause. Terry is definately a Canadian Hero!Photo: Maquinna kids participating in the Terry Fox Run. Primaries completed a walk/run around the school. Intermediates ran around Clinton Park. Rumor has it that Mr. S ran 5 laps, while Mr. E managed 2 (in fairness, he arrived late as he hung out with the primaries for a while). It was a fantastic day. Thanks to all the parents and families who were able to support and join in the run. Way to Go Everyone!

Building a Community Playground:  This was more than building a playground- it was building a community.  So many people have approached me in the past months saying that they felt valued and that they helped contribute to something bigger than themselves.  Pay it forward!

Hanna (Honourary vice Principal) and Saaya and Brandon (Principals for the Day) were very busy in the days before Christmas.  They spent the day answering some important phone calls, inspecting the school, supervising instruction and visiting one of our corporate donors, VanCity, to collect Christmas hampers for some of our needy families.  when asked at the Friday morning assembly what their favourite thing about being Principal was, they replied, "Eating candies from the candy bowl, having lunch with the teachers, and holding the bells for an extended recess.
