Volunteer - UBC Fun with English Language Camps (July 4 to Aug 19, 2016 - 9am to 4pm). Volunteer - VanDusen Botanical Garden - Summer Nature Camp Assistant (July 6 to August 26 mornings or afternoons) - Work with Camp Leaders and children ages 5 to 10 years.  Duties:  Assist to prepare and conduct nature-based activities, indoors and out; Activity clean-up; Work as part of a team to teach and evaluate each day; Assist in providing a fun, welcoming, safe, and secure environment for all campers. Volunteer - Fairmont Mother’s Day Run – May 07 and May 08, 2016 - (Raising funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.)  The event starts in Stanley Park and ends at Jack Poole Plaza at the Olympic Flame.  Positions include set-up, take down, race marshals, medical tent, timing and results, etc.  Each volunteer receives a commemorative technical shirt, snacks and a chance to win valuable draw prizes (last year we gave out over $2000 worth of prizing).  Register at: and​

Goodlife Fitness City Chase Event - August 6, 2016 – Volunteer with registration, working with Zorb balls, setting up bubble soccer games or with any number of other exciting activities.  The commitment would be one evening of volunteer training and then a day of fun on event day.  All fundraising by #chasers4kids will support local programs to get kids with autism active through the GoodLife Kids Foundation - a charity that helps Canadian kids live healthy active lives.

February 20 – 9:30am to Noon or Noon to 3:30pm (shoveling compost into 20 litre bags and loading bags onto pallets

February 27 – 9:30am to Noon or Noon to 3:30pm (assist in loading bags into cars/traffic control)

The Vancouver Library is looking for teen volunteers for their Reading Buddies program which pairs teen role models ages 13 to 18 with young children who would like to improve their reading.  Training component included on the first scheduled session, with ongoing support from library staff.  A commitment of one hour a week for eight weeks including the training is requested. The program starts January 29th and the deadline to apply is January 20th  Contact or

Teen Advisory Group is another opportunity for teens to provide community service at the library. There is a TAG at Kerrisdale library that meets the second Thursday of every month from 4pm-5pm.  TAG members create displays, plan events, and provide input on library services and programs for teens.  This is community service so teens get hours toward graduation.  At West Point Grey library there is a Teen Book Club that meets the last Thursday of every month from 4pm-5pm.

Volunteer - Chinese New Year of the Monkey 2016 at the International Village Mall - February 11 to 14, 2016 (Thursday-Sunday) at the International Village Mall (88 W. Pender Street, Vancouver.)  It is expected over 110,000 visitors will be attending this event; the programs include festivities, traditional art and cultural exhibitions, booths and entertainment.  The deadline for volunteer application submission is January 15, 2016.  More details at:  and

Gr 10-12 - Volunteers needed for Winter Wonderland at the PNE:  This new, HUGE seasonal event will be held at the PNE Forum (2901 E Hastings St, Vancouver) from Dec 11 to 20.  Volunteers are needed for a variety of positions during the event, and also for set-up, Dec 9 & 10, and tear-down, Dec 21 & 22.  Commitment:  Minimum 20 hours over the 14 days.  Evening/weekend & non-school day shifts available so no need to miss school.  Info & application at:
