Construction on Blenheim and 43rd Ave throughout the month of September

    Aug 31, 2018

As you have probably already noticed, the City of Vancouver is doing construction work on Blenheim and 43rd.  At this time 43rd is completely shut down and the Westside of Blenheim has No Stopping signs in effect.  This work will continue throughout the month of September so families will need to plan accordingly as normal drop-off and pick-up routines may be impacted by this.  Luckily this is happening in September when the weather is still favourable.  It is a great opportunity to establish some healthy habits by walking your child(ren) to school in the nice weather.  If walking is not a possibility then here are a few options:

    1. Dropping your child(ren) off South of 44th Avenue on Blenheim Street and walking a block or two into school.
    2. Dropping your child(ren) off behind the school on Balaclava Street and walk into school.
    3. Arrange for someone else to walk with your child(ren) to school or car-pool, the less cars we have the better.
    • Please do not try and drive into the cul-de-sac.  The City has their trailers parked there and it would not be safe.
    • Please do not stop on Blenheim and 43rd and let your child(ren) out of the car.  We will have extra city flaggers as well as the VPD coming by to make sure drivers are following the rules.
    • And most importantly, please allow yourself extra time to get to and from the school.  We want to start the school year with everyone safe and healthy.
