The Gladstone Community Schools Team is comprised of a teacher, a Youth and Family Worker, and a Community Schools Coordinator, two Recreation Programmers and a Homework Club Coordinator. We are located on site at Gladstone, in room A104.
The Gladstone Community Schools team works to support the academic, social / emotional and recreational needs of the students attending our community of schools. Along with work in Gladstone, we support five elementary schools: Beaconsfield, Tyee, Cunningham, Selkirk and Selkirk Annex. The type of support offered to each school is built around the needs of the students and staff of each school. However, one of our primary focuses is on supporting students while they transition from elementary to secondary schools. Events such as our Glad-Tour-Ific Evening, Glad-Tour-Ific Day, and Grade 8 Family Days, where students and parents tour the school, attend workshops and interact with the Grade 10 Mentors, helps to reduce the anxiety many students experience around this transition.
If you have any program ideas, concerns or suggestions, we would love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact us through the school office, or at 604.713.5884. Or better still, drop by our room A104 to say hello and share your ideas.
Looking forward to meeting you all!!
