June 18, 2015  Today is the last class and last lab of the year.  Students finished Thailand by making Thai Banana Roti Gulay. They were delicious!

Our second lab for the Scandinavian unit was Danish spritz cookies using the cookies presses.  Looks like fun!

April 28, 2015

Today was the first lab in our Scandinavian unit.  Students made Swedish meatballs  with mashed potatoes and gravy.  Some students tried the traditional ligonberry jam as an accompaniment.

 April 16, 2015

Today was the last lab in the Israel unit and also the last day for our student teachers Ms Chandler and Ms Yong to teach these classes. The rugulach was done very well.

April 10 The second country covered by the student teachers is Israel.  The first lab today was  pita bread and hummus.  This is a particularly puffy batch.  Well done Jasbrina, Jenny and Wendy!

Canada is the first country of study for the 2nd semester group and today the students made a classic - Nanaimo Bars.

Continuing with Scandinavia, on Dec. 17th we made either spritz cookies or soft ginger cookies. Yummy and festive!

Our current area of study is Scandinavia.  Our latest lab was Swedish meatballs served with potatoes, gravy and  traditional lingonberry jam which is much like cranberry.

While studying Australia, one of our labs was pikelets, which are tiny, cold pancakes served with jam and cream. Check out the beautiful ones here and also the creative experimental "face" pancake.
