Heavy Duty Equipment Technician

​  The Vancouver School Board, in partnership with 
  Vancouver Community College offer the ITA Youth 
  TRAIN in Trades Heavy Mechanical Trades program
Students​ have the opportunity to earn both high school and post-secondary credits, while training to become a Level 1 certified ITA apprentice​. 
Program Details
This full-time program is held at Vancouver Community​ College (Annacis​ Island). Classes run four days each week, Monday to Thursday from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm.                    
The Vancouver School Board will cover the cost of tuition however, students will be responsible to purchase their own books, materials and U-Pass.
Course Contents
Students will learn how to: access vehicle damages and make repairs; restore damaged metal frames; remove and replace damaged sections. 
  • Automotive Technology courses (recommended)
  • an "L" driver's license
Program Length
36 weeks
Programs begin: September, November, April and July​
