  The Vancouver School Board in partnership with BCIT offer
  the ITA Youth TRAIN in Trades Electrical Foundation
  program
Students have the opportunity to earn both high school and post-secondary credits, while training to become a Level 1 certified ITA apprentice.
 
Program Details​
This full-time program is held at the BCIT Burnaby campus. The School District will cover the cost of tuition, however students will be responsible to purchase their own program learning resources and equipment. 
 
Course Contents  
​Students will be introduced to theory and practical skills necessary to enter the electrical trade sector. Refer to the BCIT website for more details. 

Requirements
To quality students must have:​
  • Pre Calculus 11 and Physics 11(75%)​
  • English 10 (pass)
  • Communications 11 (75%) or English 11 (67%)
  • No more than 5% absence from classes during ​the current  school year 
  • Punctuality: consistently on time to class
  • Participate in a BCIT "Spend a Day"
  • Complete an information interview with a Red Seal Electrician​
