​  The Vancouver School Board, in partnership with BCIT      offer the ITA Youth TRAIN in Trades Carpentry     
  program 
 
Students have the opportunity to earn both high school and post-secondary credits, while training to become a Level 1 certified ITA apprentice.​​
 
Program Details​
This full-time​ program is held off-site at the BCIT Burnaby campus. ​The Vancouver School Board will cover the cost of tuition, however students will be responsible to purchase their own program learning​ resources and equipment.
 
Course ​Contents
Students will be introduced to safe work practices; drawing ​and specification interpretation, material identification, the use of hand tools and portable power​r tools and other shop equipment.  Refer to the BCIT website for more details.

​​Requirements
  • Math 11
  • an "L" driver's license
  • Applied Design, Skills and Technology courses (recommended)
