The Vancouver School Board has now implemented the Safe Arrival Program at all schools and is now in the process of updating the method Attendance is being taken.
In order to assist our teachers and office staff, we are asking parents and guardians to please do the following:
If your child is going to be either absent or late, please phone the school safe arrival reporting line, at 604-713-5159 ext. 45, before 8:30 am if possible, the day of the absence or late arrival. Please state whether your child is going to be absent or late, his/her full name and division. If you know that your child will be absent more than one day, please also state this when you call in. Please do not assume that you do not need to report an absence because you have informed the teacher. You must call Safe Arrival.
Please do not phone the school to report your child’s absence or late arrival. Please just call the number, noted above and below, and leave a message.
If your child is late arriving at school, please have him/her check in at the office before going to his/her classroom.
The office staff will be following up on all absences that have not been reported. It is imperative that the school office is able to contact you. Please make sure you notify us if your phone number(s) have changed.
Once again, to report your child’s absence, please call 604-713-5159 ext. 45, prior to 8:30 am if possible, on the first day of the absence.
When reporting the absence, please provide the following information:
- The first and last name of your child
- Division number
- Whether your child will be absent or late
- The length of your child’s absence. If your child is going to be away longer than you thought, please call in to Safe Arrival again.
Thank you for your help in having the Safe Arrival Program run smoothly. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate in contacting the school at 604-713-4985. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
