1.      HERE4PEERS INFORMATION SESSIONThe session is happening on Tuesday January 15th at lunchtime in Room 221 (Ms. McEachern's room).  For any grade 10 and 11 students looking for Leadership and/or Volunteer opportunities to work with youth and mental health.  For any extra information you can speak to Ms. Sandhu or Mr. Ritchie in the Counselling Area.                                                         J. 2.      GRAD ROBE MEASUREMENTSGrads come get yourself measured for your Grad ceremony robe on Monday, January 14th or Tuesday, January 15th at lunch in the Grad Hall. Anyone intending to wear heels to the Grad ceremony needs to bring these shoes with them to get an accurate height measurement. 3.      GRAD SECTION OF THE YEARBOOKAttention Grads!  Yearbook has posted a list of items we received from each person in the Grad Hall.  Please initial in the column for your name to show that you have checked this list.  If there are any errors, please contact Galok Ngai or Ms. Poon.  You have until January 18th.     Grad Committee (15)


4.      HERE4PEERS:  GRADE 10 and 11 students looking for exciting leadership and amazing volunteer opportunity to build that resume and make a difference:  -- WE WILL TRAIN YOU -- YOU JUST NEED TO COMMIT-- Here4Peers ---   If you or someone you can recommend would be interested in receiving in-school training about Mental Health issues, and then helping Ms. Sandhu (Grade 12 counsellor) and Mr. Ritchie (Grade 9 counsellor) go to Elementary schools and talk to kids --- Come see us in the Counselling area so we can sign you up for HERE4PEERS This is a new club formed in co-operation with the Vancouver Police Dept.                                                                                                      J. 5.      AMERICAN MATH CONTESTS:  I still have a few papers left for the AMC 10 and the AMC 12.  If you are interested in writing these contests, come register with Ms. Chan ASAP.  First come, first served!  Those of you who have already registered, please come pick up your consent form and pay the $7 registration fee.                S. 6.      POETRY IN VOICE WILD CARD:  Do you love poetry?  The English Department’s 6th annual Poetry in Voice competition will be held on February 14.  If your English class is not officially participating, you still can get involved by entering the Wild Card round, held after school on February 7. Simply go to the Poetry in Voice website (, choose a poem, memorize it, and recite your interpretation. The winners selected from the Wild Card will be eligible to compete in the school competition.  The winner of the school final has a chance to enter the national competition and win $5000. This opportunity is open to any students in grades 9 to 12. If you’d like to sign up or have any questions, please see Ms. Poon in Room 315.

NOTE:  Please be aware that if you win a Wild Card spot, you will be required to memorize two poems for the school competition.                                     M. Poon (14)​
