3. GRAD BABY PHOTOS: Along with your
grad write ups, Yearbook will be collecting your BABY PHOTOS!
Keep in mind that
only your head will be seen in the baby photo.
Your head must be
AT LEAST 3 CM wide.

AT LEAST 2 CM away from al edges of the photo.
Please scan the photo and email it to
email@example.com as a .JPEG file. If you don't have a scanner,
submit your photo to the Yearbook mailbox. You must include your FULL NAME and
STUDENT NUMBER on the back of the photo or on a post it note. If not, we won't
be able to return it to you. Baby photos

Grads, make sure to take your Artona photos! Go on the Artona website and make
a booking. Group photos must be taken by December 8. Individual photos must be
taken by December 15. If you do not take your Artona photo, you will appear at
the end of the grad section in your GoCard photo and you will not be eligible

5. ATTENTION GRADE 12S! ASSIGNMENT #2 -
GRADUATION TRANSITIONS! A reminder that Assignment #2 (Community Connections) is due in the
box in the office on November 13. Soon after this date, the boxes from the
office will be removed so that your term 1 report cards can be updated.
Please review your term 1 report card to verify if your Assignments #1 and
#2 are complete. Simply submitting your assignments may not mean that they are

7. WESTERN UNIVERSITY VISIT: A representative from Western will be at
Hamber on Thursday, November 8th from 9:30-10:30 in the counselling
GRADS! GRAD WRITE UPS:
It’s that time of year—Yearbook will be
collecting grad write-ups. Grad write-ups are placed in the grad section of the
yearbook along with your Artona grad photos. Please note that if you do not
submit a write up, your Artona photo will appear at the end of the grad
section, not alphabetically with the rest of the grade.
When composing your write-up, please keep in
mind the following:
· - School yearbooks
provide students with a very special memento of their school year. They create
a sense of honour in the school as they document the accomplishments of staff
· - They are historic
documents and are an important part of the school’s and the school district’s
archival collection. Yearbooks belong to the entire school community, including
past students, staff, and administrators who are proud to have been associated
with the school.
· - School yearbooks
are public documents. They are a reflection of the values and ideals of the
school that they represent.
Here are some specific requirements:
· - Grad write-ups
should be written in standard English prose in first person, following the
standard rules of capitalization, punctuation, and grammar.
· - Initials,
abbreviations, slang, offensive language, and codes are not appropriate for the

of the yearbook is not the style you might use in e-mail or text messages.
· - Remember to
properly source any quotations.
· - Your grad write
ups must be FEWER than 575 characters, not WORDS.
Please note that school administrators will be
reading over write-ups and will edit as required.
