1.       MINI MED SCHOOLAt Mini Med School Vancouver, you’ll learn about the latest in biomedical and clinical research in a learning environment that fuses lectures with live demonstrations and hands on experience to inspire and motivate further learning. 

This program includes a 6-weeks seminar series (Wednesdays, 7:00 - 9:00 pm) held at BC Children's Hospital Research Institute. Admission is FREE but space is LIMITED.

2.       GRIFFIN’S NEST NEWSPAPER EDITORIAL TEAMTo all students interested in becoming a copy editor, photographer, or designer for the Griffin’s Nest newspaper, sign up for an interview outside Room 316, Mr. Scaglione’s room.  Interviews will be after school on Monday and Tuesday.                                                P. 3.       GRAD HOODIESHey Grads! Your Grad Committee is looking for grad hoodie design submissions.  Grads will be voting as a grade for the best hoodie design.  The winner will get one free hoodie!  The design must be original with no cutting and pasting.  Deadline for the submissions will be on September 24th.  Details regarding the design will be posted on our Facebook group and the grad bulletin.                                                                      B. 4.       EUROPE TRIP 2019 (SPRING BREAK)If you are interested in visiting some of the most famous cities in the world like Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin – come to a meeting at 12 noon on Friday, September 14th in Room 316.                                                                          P. 5.       ATTENTION GRADE 11SWork Experience! Using your Office 365 email, please confirm your attendance to the mandatory WorkSafeBC meeting on September 18th by today! Also, see Mrs. James by the end of this week to sign enrolment forms. For anyone now interested in enrolling in WEX, please see Mrs. James by the end of this week.                                  E. 6.       ATTENTION GRADE 11SDaily Physical Activity! One of the tasks required of you is to collect evidence in the area of personal health (150 minutes per week of moderate/vigorous daily physical activity). If you are enrolled in Dance/PE this school year, your DPA requirement for Grade 11 will be met and you will not have to submit DPA logs. If you are not enrolled in Dance/PE, keep your own records of your DPA AND submit your DPA via the online form for each term via the link found on the Hamber website – Students – Graduation.                                                                        E. 7.       LORAN SCHOLARSHIPSIn 2018-2019, the Loran Scholars Foundation will offer up to 138 awards to well-rounded students who demonstrate character, promise of leadership and strong commitment to service in the community.  The website is now open and is accepting applications. www.loranscholar.ca.

The school is able to sponsor 3 candidates.  Students are also able to apply through direct pool applications.  If you would like to be considered for school sponsorship, you must complete your online application by October 1st so that Ms. Sandhu and Ms. Jensen have enough time to review your application.  Please see Ms. Sandhu for further information.                                                                           N.
