1.       CHEMISTRY 11/12 CONTEST SIGN UP:  If you want to take the Avogadro Exam (Chemistry 11) or the Chem13 News Exam (Chemistry 12), please bring $5 to Ms. Dowle in room 351 on Monday April 16th.

2.       RUN FOR IT:  Hamber's Mental Health Awareness Club invites you to participate in the Run For It Program.  Run for It is an educational program about mental health that ends with a 5k race at UBC (on May 12th) to raise awareness.   Join us for weekly walks/runs and mini-lessons on Mental Health.  Meet us at the Oval at lunch on Monday, April 16th and/or sign up for our team at  All school staff are invited to join.  If you have any questions, please contact Ava Weinstein-Wright ( or Ms. Sandhu (  If you can't make it for week 1,  check out Week 1's resources on Brain Health and running                                                                                                                      N. 3.       BALANCING OUR MINDS COMMUNITY SUMMIT:  We still have some spots available for the Balancing Our Minds Community Summit.  Are you interested in learning more about youth mental health and what you can do to improve your own mental wellness and support your peers?  Tupper is hosting a Balancing Our Minds Community Summit on Monday, April 30 from 8:30 to 3:00.  There will be youth speakers, information sessions, a resource fair, FREE lunch and snack, presentations from VSB students, as well as door prizes.


Sessions Include:

▪ The Art of Belonging – Art Therapy (pm session only)  ▪ Indigenous Medicine Pouches

4.       HAMBER READS MEETS AGAIN! - Apologies for the meeting cancellation. We will meet next Tuesday, April 17th, at lunch in the Library lounge. Bring your copy of The Young Elites. 5.       ATTENTION GRADE 10S:  Work Experience! This could be you! Here is a sample of where students in Work Experience volunteered over spring break: Kidsafe, Dr. Cadenhead's office, Craftworks Sewing Society, SPG Childcare, Hillcrest Community Centre, Print It Go Graphics, Royal Bank, Collingwood Policing Centre, Granville Toyota, Simon Fraser University - Science Lab Technician (working with brains!), Jody Wilson-Raybould (MP office), Ernst & Young Accounting, Artona Photography, Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House, Pure Integrative Pharmacy, and Burrard Animal Hospital. If you are interested in Work Experience, please submit your application form to Mrs. James (Room 309 or letterbox) by the end of this week.
