DAY 2

1.    Library Closed - The Library Learning Commons is now closed, and we thank you for your patronage. Your Teacher-Librarians have greatly enjoyed working with and supporting you this school year. If you still have overdue or lost books, please come in the Library to see Ms. Lemmon or Mr. Appel to pay for the books. Have a great summer - happy reading!  S. Lemmon (21)

2.    LAST DAY OF CLASSES: The last day of classes for the 2016-2017 school year is Thursday, June 22nd.  Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes on that day.  Yearbooks will be distributed in homerooms and there will be a Day 2/Day 1 modified schedule, meaning that all four blocks on Day 2 will be in the morning and all four blocks of Day 1 will be in the afternoon.  Students in grades 8-11 are not expected to be in the building after Thursday, June 22nd unless they have a specific purpose or appointment with a teacher.

3.    TEXTBOOKS, LIBRARY BOOKS AND OUTSTANDING FEES: Please return any outstanding textbooks and library books and settle any outstanding fees in the Main Office with Ms. Kaur by June 22nd, before school, at lunch or after school.

4.    LOCKER CLEAN OUT: Locker clean out is Tuesday, June 20th.  Locks must be removed from lockers by 3:30 p.m. on June 22nd.

5.    REPORT CARDS: will be published online at 10:00 a.m. on June 29th.  There will be no homeroom on June 29th this year since report cards will be online only.  Please access My Ed this week so that if you encounter a problem accessing your account those problems can be resolved before June 29th.  Please follow the link below to find reference guides on the different features of the MyEd Student Family Portal:

http://go.vsb.bc.ca/schools/MyEdStudentFamilyPortalSupport/Pages/default.aspx

6.    Please record your login ID and password in a safe place for future reference, and ensure that your primary email address in MyEd is set to one that you commonly use, so that you can use the password recovery feature in future, if necessary.  If, after following the instructions in the link above, you are still having difficulty accessing MyEd please contact either Mr. Bach (dbach@vsb.bc.ca)  (grades 8, 10 & 12) or Ms. Thomson (kthomson@vsb.bc.ca) (grades 9 & 11) by email with your name, student number and “MYED LOGIN”  in the subject line.  We will try to help you as soon as we can, in the order of your requests.

7.    ENGLISH 12 PROVINCIAL EXAM: is on Friday, June 23rd from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  The exam will be held in 3rd floor classrooms.  Students will be assigned to a classroom, in alphabetical order.  A list of assigned classrooms will be posted in the bulletin, in the Grad Hall and in the 3rd floor hallway on Wednesday-Friday.   All students must arrive at school no later than 8:45 a.m. to get to their exam room and be ready to start the exam at 9:00 a.m. sharp.  Students who arrive late will not be given extra time to write the exam.  Please bring your GO Card as identification or other government issued I.D. such as a driver’s license or passport.  Leave personal belongings and cell phones at home as you will no longer have access to your locker.  Students writing an exam in a separate setting are to report to the Library no later than 8:40 a.m. to get logged in to a computer.

8.    RE-WRITES OF DISCONTINUED PROVINCIAL EXAMS: Students re-writing provincial exams for English 10, Math 10, Science 10 or Socials 11 MUST have spoken to Ms. Thomson in order to be registered for these exams.  These exams are ONLY for students who completed any of these courses BEFORE June 30, 2016 (i.e. last June) and are either rewriting or missed the exam last June.  You may NOT rewrite the exam if you took the course more than 12 months ago.  All re-writes are electronic exams written on a computer.  Check with your counselor if you are not sure if you should be writing this exam.

IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY REGISTERED IN ANY OF THESE COURSES YOU DO NOT NEED TO WRITE THE PROVINCIAL EXAM THIS YEAR AS THEY HAVE BEEN DISCONTINUED.
