Hello Emily Carr Families,

I just received our final totals in the library for books and materials being checked out.

Last year the students had taken out over 10 000 books.  But, this year the students have taken out over 23 000 books. We have doubled the number of books being taken out!  This is a fabulous accomplishment.

I’d like to thank all the parents, students and staff for their help, and donations.  I’d like you to also please know that your PAC contributions have been well used and appreciated.  The library is well looked after by our parent volunteers and student monitors. Thank you all for a very happy, successful and well-read year filled with many new books and readers.

Proposed New Elementary School Catchment Boundaries - Vancouver

As indicated in a prior PAC newsletter, the VSB is proposing to change Vancouver Elementary School Catchment Boundaries beginning in September 2019.  A link to the proposed new catchments are attached below.

http://www.vsb.bc.ca/catchments

For those parents whose current student's younger sibling will be affected by the proposed catchment changes, it is requested that you fill out the attached survey below. Specifically, it is being proposed that younger siblings will not receive priority in-catchment status for kindergarten registration if their catchment area has changed. This survey has a deadline of June 8th, and allow parents to provide their data on how their family will be affected by the proposed catchment change.
