Sports Day

Our annual Sports Day is Wednesday, May 16th. The day will start at 9am. Our theme is Video Games. A huge thank you to all of the Grade 7 students who will organize and run the events. Sports Day finishes at 2pm. Students are welcome to go home with a parent at 2pm. Let's hope for a warm sunny day!

PAC AGM and ELECTIONS

The PAC Annual General Meeting is Tuesday, May 29 at 6:30pm in the library.  Childcare will be provided in the music room.  This is the big night of elections as well as capital spending decisions.  If you are interested in joining the PAC Executive – please come to the meeting.  You can contact Katie at emilycarrpac@gmail.com if you have any questions before the meeting. More info will be sent out later this week.

FUN FAIR 2018 – Friday June 1 from 5-8pm

Fun Fair is Emily Carr’s Annual Carnival – with games, bbq, DJ, silent auction, cake walk, face painting, photo booth, bouncy castles and more!  The goal of the event is to strengthen the community by getting people together to meet each other and have fun.  It is also the main fundraising event of the year.  The money raised is used to buy items needed by the school.

Fun Fair Pre Sale Ticket Orders

Now open on www.munchalunch.com. You can also submit the paper form and payment to the white PAC box in the hallway outside the office.  Deadline is May 28.  Buy your tickets ahead of time to skip the line up at Fun Fair!!

Fun Fair Parent Volunteer Form

Volunteer forms have been sent home and can be submitted to the white PAC box in the hallway outside the office by May 23.  Or send an email to robin_petri@yahoo.ca noting what shift you would like - drink or food stations...  games...  face painting...

Cake Walk - Fun Fair 2018

Arguably the best event at Fun Fair! We are looking for volunteers to bring in homemade or bought cakes, cupcakes or other goodies. Remember the cake walk only lasts until all the cakes are won. Let's make it a full night of cakes this year!

Drop off your cakes at the intermediate lunch room anytime on Friday, June 1st!

List of Basket Themes

There is a silent auction at Fun Fair that raises about $5,000 for the school each year. The items come from donations - and also from the theme baskets put together by each classroom. The themes chosen for class baskets so far are as follows:

Div. 1 Tea Party

Div. 2 Beach Sports (squirt guns, towels, balls, sunscreen, floaties, water balloons, frisbee, Nerf, etc...)

Div. 3 Wine/ Craft Beer

Div. 4 Summer Games

Div. 5 Sports

Div. 6 Italian Dinner Night

Div. 7 Science

Div. 8 Puzzles

Div. 9 Art

Div. 10 Super Heroes

Fun Fair BBQ

For the BBQ, we traditionally have each class find 5 volunteers to make salads and veggie/fruit plates.   The list of what types of dishes are needed is below.  If someone wants to bring something different, totally ok.  If the salads are bought, that is awesome.

Div 1 and 2 - green salads
Div 3 and 4 - ceasar salads
Div 5 and 6 - veggie plates
Div 7 and 8 - green or ceasar salads
Div 9, 10 and 11 - fruit plates
